S. M. Maniruzzaman

Department of English

S. M. Maniruzzaman was born in Rangpur, Bangladesh. He completed B.A. (Honours) in English and M.A. in English Literature from the University of Dhaka. After his graduation, he started teaching at the People’s University of Bangladesh as a part-time lecturer. In March, 2014, he joined Atish Dipankar University of Science and Technology as a Lecturer in English and taught there until October, 2014. In November, 2014, he joined Notre Dame University Bangladesh as a Lecturer in English. 

His research interests are Literary and Critical theory, Shakespeare, Modern Literature, Postmodern Literature, Postmodernism, Post-colonialism, Romantic Poetry, Victorian Poetry, Cultural Studies, Translation Studies and Film Studies.

He also writes in English and Bengali and translates from Bengali to English and vice versa. Some of his works are available on www.smmanir.com. He edited a micro-magazine of poetry named Sfulinga in 2011.
